Having random crash problems - very frustrated. Game goes black and/or freezes when playing. Updated Patch 1.1, upgraded Videocard - went from GeForce 2 64MB to GeForce FX 5200 128MB, and updated the drivers. Running a P4 2.0 Ghz w/ 512MB of RAM. Sometimes when the crashes happen I can see in my toolbar that my computers resources are being used at like 70-99%. Should this be happening?

What gives? Help!

Hi m8.

What Operating System are you using? Try getting rid of all the services you dont need, also get rid of spyware and adware using a program like adware 6, and do a virus check.

Id would also suggest uninstalling Far Cray, disabling anti-virus then reinstalling it. Make sure you have DX9 B also.

Also what drivers are you using for your Graphics card? I have a similar card and it runs ok on mine.

Please get back to us and let us know how you get on.

Do you think its a heat issue?

It may not be a heat issue but an electrical issue! May be try swaping a power supply 350W min. Ive been makeing a huge data base of benchmarks and when you're system is really pushed to the limits, your PS gets very unstable and starts putting out " DIRTY " electricty; electrical noise! This causes crashes big time.

PS GF 5200 is not a great VGA adapter

I'm gonna try a clean install, further updating of my drivers and see what happens there. I can't imagine it's an overheating problem, but it could be. PS advice is interesting...somthing I'd like to avoid if possible. Do some more research on that change....

Thanks fellas!
