 Hello, just asking... I installed Far Cry a couple of days ago. I have some texture problems already explained by some of you: water is crap, graphical problems, etc... I wonder if my video card is still Ok: ATI Radeon 7000 series. I bought it 2 years ago when Medal of Honor came out. Besides, I still have Windows 98 which I still think is a very stable system... Any comments or tips ? PS: I don't explain the problems I meet with HL²....... :cya: Bye...

I don't have this game but the 7000 series cards are relics. I'm not sure how much cash you have but you may want to look at a new Graphics card.I looked at the system req. but I'm not sure if that card is supported....
Well, thanks for your answer... You may be right ... Il will try an ATI 9200 tonight. But hey, my card (ATI 7000) was bought just two years ago ! I sometimes really wonder how much you have to spend by year to have a 'ready-to-play' PC...
:uhoh: And sometimes, I wonder if spending money on consoles (X-box, Playstation, ...) could be a more 'cost-efficient' solution than PC updates which remain very expensive  Thanks ! Fred.

2 Years is a long time in PC terms. I know my friend, just got FC running with a 64mb GeForce 2. Essentially, you need an upgrade. Depending on how much you want to spend, a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB is a good card for just over 100 quid. If not a GeForce FX5900 will do you for just under 100 quid :). Tips: Turn off all Background Programs, Download the latest drivers for your card and do a spyware/adware search using spybot S&D or another spy/adware removal program.
