Am looking to join a Project Reality clan and just wondered is it essential to use the VOIP system. I don't at the moment but am looking into it.

Was just after a general answer regarding clans, not really bothered what mod were talking about, I play on both. Cheers though, should have said that in my question.

I would say it is necessary. Even if you don't have a microphone.

Also, VOIP isn't that good in normal Battlefield. Use programs like Ventrilo and Teamspeak, or Mumble.

Good communication is very important in a teamwork clan and for good communication you do need a mic. VOIP sucks though, as Matyast already said, use Venty, TS2 or Mumble.

Cheers folks. I set up VOIP today and really enjoyed using it. Your right it really does add to the game. Also downloaded teamspeak. So one more question: How do i use teamspeak instead of VOIP and why is it so much better (ok that's 2 questions)?

You just join a server. Every clan/BF2 server uses another one I guess. And why TS2/Ventrilo? Sound quality, it's just way better.

Mainly, you have to be in game and in a squad to speak to few of fellow clanmembers. Thats good enough when you are playing a public game, but you need much better communication when in a clan, to keep things working.
