Hello gamers :deal:

I'm debating on whether or not to change my vanilla bf2 server over to FH2. If I had some sort of indicator as to whether or not I would get any traffic on it, it would make my decision so much easier.

Is FH2 making ground? Are there many servers running the mod in the U.S.A.?

I run a "fee free" server and web site. Meaning we don't solicit funds from members or admins. Our site and servers are paid by donations and ads on the site.

Y'all have a good day. Gary aka The Last Rebel

I'd like to see another server running Fh2 in the U.S. There seem to be few. Fh2 is popular itself, as in, people like the mod. Its just not booming with in-game players right now cause they are tired of the desert.

k4gap:

now is a better time than ever to switch to FH2!

We've got the 2.15 patch coming soon with new maps that are not like the others in FH2, also Normandy is on its way so you have time to create a new community / playerbase of Fh2 lovers! (so when Normandy comes, you allready have regulars on your server, give some of them admin rights, they in turn spread the word etc... this is how communities grow)

Also, dont be afraid to use different modes on the "desert" maps.. If you feel your server will get an average count of 20-30 players, run some of the maps in 16 mode etc..

I dont know how big your current Bf2 community is, but dont plug FH2 as a BF2-mod, just announce your opening up a Fh2 server, market it as Forgotten Hope.. if you know what I mean, this is fresh, its not Bf2 from 3 years ago... this is a new game. Let your players know that, hype the mod, it requires lots of work to run a server, but its rewarded when seeing players fill them up.

good luck to you!!

Ooo yes. Seeing more 16 player versions of the maps running on servers would make many people happy, including me. :)

I just sent in a ticket to have my server changed over to FH2. I'll share the info once I receive it. I will of course need some admins :naughty:

k4gap... you need to attract people to your site... build a "base" of players... talk to Lightning in FH2 about support or advertisements.. Hopefully you'll receive support from the american FH2 players...

Choose a niche of maps! For ex dont run the same versions and maps like all other servers, if you do they won't "switch" to your server..

Which maps would you suggest?

I'd suggest the exact opposite, choose the most popular maps you can. As I hear you will have very little competition server wise in the US, so I don't see much point in trying to start with rare maps. Your best bet IMO is to try to be "the server with good admins that are always on", so I wish you good luck in finding those admins. I cant really give you a list of good maps, because I as an infantry player am a bit biased on this matter :P

Though I have to add that I personally am a little sceptical in getting a boost to the US playerbase before the release of Normandy patch (and the US forces), which by the looks of it is still quite far away. Anyway, I wish you best of luck!

Thanks for the info. I'm getting my server set up now so by the end of the day it should be up.
