There are several constants in life: death, taxes, and cheaters. And while there isn't a 100% solution to prevent all cheating attempts, we can sure implement measures that will deter and detect them.
As most of you know, effective v1.9, we're excited to join forces with Punkbuster to help with the deterrence. But in the meantime, we are relying on several alternative means for detection. While we'd like to hope that folks won't cheat, since it inevitably effects everyone in the community, 'hope' doesn't seem to be a good deterrent.
Thus, the following will be in effect, beginning 0001 PST, Friday/18 July: if any player has altered their system files, either intentionally or non-intentionally -- or believes that perhaps they may be altered -- run cleaner.exe (located in your system folder). Effective this Friday, all players who are found to have altered system files will have their accounts banned until v1.9.
In the meantime, our Official servers will continue to be administered by our ever-diligent AGA admins, conveniently reached from our support page.
Thanks for your time, spread the word, and happy gamin'!

Well I don't have anything to worry about.
so, even if you altered user.ini for binds, you would be banned? wtf
O wow i don't think so cause thats the .ini file but if it is then that is a bad move cause everyone does it!
yes it is - i have all sorts of alterations to the server file, user.ini, and bunches of other stuff
I doubt they could do it, and it doesn't really matter cause 1.9 is coming out soon.
yeah well i hope it doesn't ban me!
OMG 1.5 all over again! NOW THAT WAS A BAD MOVE! Well hopefully it will help game play!
They ARE doing it. They are doing this until 1.9 because of all these cheaters (the cheat program changes those files i believe). If you get banned, ur banned until 1.9 comes out. (as it says so)
unless they ban you for life...
