Anyone else here think that using real military branch names is.. DISRESPECTFUL AND WRONG.. like using 101st or 82nd or 1stID... or em I the only one..I am sorry it just pisses me off to see that level of pathetic disrespect.

I think your right and using ranks EG: Sgt and Pfc would be wrong also cuz most of us have earned nothing. and then you call your clan the 101st or something and you are complete idiots... it is disrespectful.

But i must disagree with you on your thoughts on the 9mm catridge.

BTW what is the 1stID?

i have no problem with it. im in a squad that uses ranks and we are the 75th Rangers. the only thing is it was founded by a member of the 75th Rangers so if people that are actually in the squad dont care i dont think you should. weve also go several members in the military, most of em that were in the military were rangers too. so i have no problem with it.

I dont think its disrespectful to give squad names to the missions.... I dont think its also disrespectful to use ranks either... Heres why...

1. Squad Names -If you look when your doing the training for the missions you get to actually see some of the history behind the squads whos missions you are performing. In a sense you are paying respect to those who actually have completed those missions(and yes, some of the missions are based after actuall events. The original Bridge is based after that). I think those people who dont take a moment to think about those people who use those names as Squad/Clan Names and dont appreciate the significance of those squads are the ones who are disrespecting the real soliders.

2. Military Ranks -Ok... The rank in the games are for leadership. The people who have SGT or SSG in there names need to take charge of the PVTs in the game and come up with a game plan. Theres too many people picking SSG or SGT and then rambo-ing the field for points to increase their honor. Those people realize this is NOT quake and play as a team, and thus disrespect the people who actually have gotten those ranks. Likewise the PVTs who dont listen to their SSG or SGTs are also disrespecting the honor of actually having attained those ranks. I dont remember where I heard this... But it fits in. "Ours is not to reason why, Ours is but to do or die." Even if you are given an order you know is going to get you killed, you should still try to accomplish it to help the team.

My Clan uses CO and XO as the ranks for the leaders so that we dont disrespect the ranks attained by the US military service people and we honor them for the heroism that they have shown through all the conflicts that they have served. We also dont use a Military units name because we do have some rowdy people in our clan who could possible disrespect those units, so we dont use those names either out of respect either. I think most people should have the same common courtesy. I hope this clears up things on why I dont think this game is disrespecting the people who are in these squads and have attained those ranks.

I have nothing against using Ghost Squads such as my name.. My sqaud can never be because it is not in the military alphabet. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta.. or if you had oh so 100th Infantry Division.. ,but names based off real squads that is disrespectful. Hell better yet use the Ghost Divisions from WW2 that they fauxed for the normandy invasion.

btw 9mm you can be shot 2 times with a bulletproofvest on and you'd still live .45 your gone.

The berreta has low range, low accuracy, and well its only good factor is low recoil.

Really this is not disrespecting the army, its a way in honoring them. You use their names because you think its cool and it demands R E S P E C T! Yes some people do disrespect the army with their clan. But the people who do it to honor them do NOT.:deal:  :smack: :spank:
