Post your opinion about this controversial subject. Personally, I find that if the defence is impatient and rushes you, or you have a team of rambos, camping is a good option. What do you think?

ppl that are camping late in the mission (assault) 2 min - less should be told to move - if not just let the time run out and vk him off - other than that 10 min - 2 min it's fine regardless the map

I find that what indicates whether it's "camping" or not is the honor rating. ie: an honor > 35 soldier is NOT camping while an honor < 20 is. While this generalization may seem unfair, if you think about it it is true. 3/4 of the game is staying alive long enough to do what needs to be done.

I think camping is ok on A but if there on a level like radio tower with alot of ejectives... i think they should be statring to go after them after atlest the first 5 mins or they wont make it. and also... camping is ok to do espeacially when your position is being fired at because who the hell is dumb enough to run out of safety and start shoting like a retard when u have better chances just sniping them from a safe position.

i think camping all depends on the sitchuation. For an example like u said if defense rushes u then camping is a good idea but u r assualt and u r suppose 2 b the people rushing in and defense is suppose 2 b the people camping. So i think it all depends if defense is patient or impatient

Here's the deal: too many people forget that this is a SIM, not a shoot-em-up. It's supposed to be about using your brain as well as your bullets. What these people do is rush in like Rambo to get a body count before they die. That's not the point of the game.

I think merely camping for the sake of camping is a kickable offense. In other words, you're on assault and you wait for five minutes before you even move to try and make the defense come after you. That's a violation of the spirit of the mission: you're supposed to be the one on assault.

On the other hand, if you have a legitimate strategy reason, I think it's just smart. For instance, if you are playing insurgent camp, you know that eventually someone on D is going to go into the computer access room to check on the PC, and that if you start typing, you're only going to invite a nade up your undies. It may be smarter to lie in wait to ambush the unsuspecting defender.

Or, if you're the only guy left on assault and you're outnumbered, it may be smart to lie low and pick off the defenders one at a time.

As long as I'm on the topic, I feel the same way about Rambo defenders as I do about assault players who are camping for no reason. People who are on defense and who rush the assault teams are as much in violation of the spirit of the game as are the pointless assault campers. I run into this all the time on Insurgent Camp, and when defense wins that way, it's a cheap win. It's essentially the same thing as an exploit, and I'll always vote in favour of kicking anyone who does it.

Camping is not anything other than 3 factors 1. the person is afk for a reason and has found somewhere to camp safely 2. they haven't a clue what to do or are scared 3. they are waiting for flankers ..

I often camp on MP on assualt to catch flankers thru the chasm - but by the time they arrive the rest of the team have been slaughtered so its then 1 v unknown forces so then it's a slow progression towards the objective. I suppose waiting for flankers is rather lame but it also depends on the team, how and if the communication is kept up - usually there is little comm for the rear guard until it's too late - often I find my team has not noticed I didn't hold the flankers and then wonder why they get slaughtered.. But it's a game if the team is being sluaghtered vk for a camper is your own fault - if one person camps then he should have a buddy too hence TEAM WORK - if the camper is new don't VK just get him to take up a defensive position elsewhere to cover a key point - he will learn something eventually.

I never vote for campers only if that person is standing at spawn and has not moved at all.... then he is idle vk #1 - nor do I vote for ROE - who lost the points ? and who can generate more ? you or the tker...
