I recently read the latest PC Gamer and an article was written about AA:O. It talked about future updates and what will be included in them. It was written that the game will be moving to the Unreal Tournament 2003 engine and will include various additions such as: civilians, artiliry strikes, mortars, new training (Spec Ops) and vehicles. They are trying to even include tanks. What do you think? Does anyone think this might turn into a modern version of BF1942? Does anyone think this will take away from the gameplay and make it to complicated? I undoubtedly welcome additions and updates; however, this game is fairly simple and that is what makes it so wonderful. The developement team has done great so far so I would not expect anything less with future updates.

I think it would take away from the game. Unless they made new maps just for the vehicles. I think choppers would be cool, but then it would be too easy for certain people to keep getting kills. The game is pretty even now, but vehicles could really ruin the game and it will cause a hell of a lot of bugs, just look at Battlefield 1942.

I think that the UT2003 engine will be good and the civilians, artillerys strikes, mortars and new training would also be for the best because thats what the real soldiers have to deal with. But I dont think that vehicles would be a good idea.

couple of quick points. Civilians = higher ROE, bad enough with two teams to tell apart without a third person as well.

More training? is this for everyone or gonna be more elitist if u r a sniper qual then you can do it or else.....

For discussion regarding vehicles & artillery strikes see this thread http://forums.filesnetwork.com/showthread.php?threadid=16268&goto=newpost:D

Hopefully the new version will take into account when a team mate runs through your firing path or by one of your exploding grenades, I've lost a lot of points because of the current ROE system...

they could easily do it, just have to program in that person 1 was firing first at target and person 2 steps into person 1's path.

I have dont a lengthy post on the addition of vehicles, and i think one of the best sugestions i ever had was a level idea that i am about to post in one of the sticky posts :)

So i fire at a target (allegedly you know my ability) and walk sideways still firing (with saw) and kill 2 people, are they at fault or me?

I am sure they could do it but would require tight programming so that it don't get abused :)

Well as i've said somewhere before a virtual reality pain machine would be great for this game, imagine the realism!

Lets see how many people advocate ramboing (is there such a word?) then when they get a full dose of agony, certainly would affect your shooting ability.
