1 word: bore.
(and yes, I know he was using pyro, but if he was using james, that guy woulda been in a world of hurt when he lost 30 souls to one spell)
If you can't use volcano, I'm not sure you can use bore anyway.
Not if it's on a building or a tree of some kind. WAY too much programing for something so small. bore, And anything else land altering won't work....(Cept earthquake....yadda yadda) On the plus side, I finnaly beat the game with Charell....
BTW, just thought of something: had he guardianed his altar instead of that lith, I could have been in real trouble. Only way out I see is using both the tickfernos vs wizard and the pyroctadyl oiling tactics, but I need to try it before I could say it actually works.
How would bore help against flying units?
They would just look at you funny. Unless I am missing something here.
*Looks at you funny*
That's really weird that you couldn't cast Volcano there. Are you sure you were trying to cast on the ground right in front of it and not the Manalith itself?
Well.. the first thing I would try is cast your shield, dash right by, and have air units meet me on the other side to desecrate the alter (Phoenixes and a Pyrodactyl would be nice). Does Explosion knock guardian'ed air units around? If so you might want to cast Explosion and let it go off right before you dash across
If the above failed, I would try grabbing a huge group of Pyromaniacs and one Pyrodactyl. Cast Blind Rage on the Hellmouths just as the Pyrodactyl arrives to grease 'em up. Let the Pyromaniacs set them ablaze (it might be best to target the Manalith rather than the individual Hellmouths).
Whatever you do, DONT get within range of the hellmouths. Everytime a guardianed hellmouth attacks it gains almost half its health back, making it very difficult to kill.
The only way to kill them is from long range, using artilleries...
But even more likely is that you can just ignore the manalith and go and desecrate...
Unless the hellmouths are right on his altar... Even then you could send in 20 lvl 1 decoys or something like that..
You could also use blind rage to keep them busy while you desecrate...
Just remember, as soon as the hellmouth is able to attack something it will be healed.
------------------ Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
If you cast Rings of Fire on an enemy, the enemy Wizard cannot cast Heal on it. Use that, and concentrate fire on one enemy. Combine with other tactics as necessary.
