Yep, Im bordering on choosing to have an RTS game or "MOD" as my coursework project, thats why Im choosing the Dawn of war game engine to do it, but firstly, what do poeple like for RTS? Like, what gameplay styles? What sort of units; and would you think that, considering since lucasarts have been releasing many different projects around and about, that there would be a need for changing the style of RTS to something better? With more "strategy" required? Because most RTS games are just mass army and kill units, Im thinking of some things that could help, like map design and other stuff, so any ideas are welcome!

maps with contoured terrain, levels, high ground advantages starcraft was clever in the way the tanks deployed supports for extra firepower but were fairly quick to get to there location.. theres nothing worse than having a massive army take several hours too get across the map to the oposition.
