I just got my hands on AA (ver 2.0a) on a new 64bit PC. Running Sygate Personal Firewall (required since I have no router and get lots of portscans etc as many others do these days). What am I to do in order to be able to connect to Andromeda? Do I need other software running (I never liked gamespy and such, wanna get internal server list working first). I created a user, Did some training, and had it update my status no problem, I can log in no problem as well. Now I'm ready to play online. Every time I click on "Refresh Server List" it just sits on "Connecting to Andromeda..." and never changes, doesn't get any servers. I don't want to turn off my firewall since it is there for a reason. In Sygate Personal Firewall I created 2 advanced rules to open the required ports, yet this didn't change a thing. The game doesn't seem to be receiving any incomming data from the server. Please help, I'm stumped and even setting the firewall to "allow all" doesn't change a thing. Other games have no problems playing online (Call of Duty, DiabloII).
I had to manually open port 14200 for the Andromeda browser to work. Also you can try this though: Go to ArmyOps.ini and open it with notepad. Search for ConnectionTimeOut and you should see this... [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver] AllowDownloads=False ConnectionTimeout=60.0 Change the 60.0 to 10.0 I didn't need to do this, just opened port, but heres two things you can do anyways.
andromeda was a concept from SCI and has NEVER worked. to resolve this issue you need to change the ingame browser to gamespy, click refresh and servers will now list.
happy gaming
