My ideal role is a medic...but this is a sim - not Wolfenstien. So how the hell would this game include a medic without being stupid or "un-realistic"?

Well, pls join me as we solve this issue. Thank you ;)

This is my first stab at the idea:

1) The life of each player will be altered to allow players to fall wounded or KIA. Meaning, no player laying on the ground is ALWAYS a dead one. The difference will result from the ammount of damage the player recieved before they fell. If a player is hit just enough times, they will fall to ground and remain there; making small "spasmic" movements (very subtle ones).

Player cannot be "finished off" by enemies.

2) Medics (and now all players) will be able to pick up the wounded, and carry and drop them. Thus encouraging a sense bravery and heroic nobility towards each and every teammate ;) Isn't that the most daring and exciting thing to do in a team game? I agree.

"COVER ME"

(AAOplayer runs into danger while teammates lay suppressive fire. AAOplayer pics up wounded comrade and carries him to safety.)

3) New communication Radio message: "MEDIC"

4)Team medics will know to respond. Medics can grab the fallen comrades and carry them to specified (by mapper) areas, where wounded can be placed. Once player is dropped...any loss of points from the their "death" will be removed.

Or...

Player can be respawned (as a new fresh soldier).Which, would make Medics everybodies friend LOL  ...except enemy

IN ADDITION:

Some hits to player may cause a slow loss of life. The rate is open to suggestions...but it would create a need to stop the beeding via a medic.

Medics could stop the life drain by approching player, pressing a button to touch them with a bandage. This process would take 5 - 8 seconds.

OK>>>>>Thats my idea, but I'd love to see something similar to that. I also think it would make the game more intersting, especially for us daredevil meds out there. It would be a good training sim addition too.

PS Medics and Fire team leaders should get additional sidearms (Berreta?)

what the hell are you talking about, aao is no a sim. aa soldier is sim. Its not that hard to add medic. Wolfenstein engine is old, and unreal engine is new so it has more equipped stuff to it.

great idea! but i think they should allow the enmemy to finish people off ... even though somethign like that would draw polemic, i think they should allow you to finish a wounded soldier off , but it would cost you ROE (being that it is in the geneva convention that you cant shoot dead a wounded soldier) so enemy soldiers would have to be carefull not to kill the wounded soldier bringing themselves ROE on themsleves .

now for the role of medic i think this is how it could be done :

medic have several medic items :adrenaline (could turn your orange into a green and a red into a orange ,torniquetes to stop bleeding,

but besides that i think that anything else the medic could do would be unrealistic , other than giving emergency medication to keep a wounded soldier trough the end of the round alive so he dont lose kia points .. suegestions ?

you do know that a tourniquet stops the bleeding...in fact it stops the bleeding so well, that if its not removed VERY soon after being applied, then the limb has to be amputated. NO blood is getting past the tourniquet and so the tissue dies, youll never be able to use it again...

personally, i dont like the whole wounded idea. so the medic just fixes this guy new? no way man. "bleeding" sounds ok tho, then the medic stops the bleeding...

I like both ideas.

It would be great to hear a real field medics point of view. I know a guy here in town that was a medic, not a gun carrying med, but he served in the Gulf War. Told me some pretty interesting stuff.

Learning what a med commonly does...their field conduct during combat...can give us something to work from to create ways of improving the game. Make the medic something that just makes sense...NO NOVELTY. But, I think the med is a no brainer for hightening gameplay on special maps.

What does everyone think of the picking up teammates and carrying them to safety option? I think that would be a great fun. Just would be a little nicer if a medic could be there to complete the team game.

What if the medic could give points to the player they save. Perhaps...the med cannot make the player respawn (or could), but they certainly could give them something. The wounded player wouldn't have to do a damn thing too. Who wouldn't like that?

Still I really like the idea of meds carrying wounded to special areas that can respawn them with say....red life.
