Just some minutes ago I was playing in the HSLAN (or atleast i think it was it) server. The map being the Battle of Bulge. I spawned at the town flag as american and saw there was an enemy pzIV (the one with the skirts) infront of me, trying to cap the flag. The tank's side was touching the sandbags North from the flag, where the equipment crates are. I didn't have anything I could kill it with, so I thought I try to distract it by firing it with the fixed .50 cal on the sandbags at it. I was suprised when I noticed the "hitmarker" when I fired. I was firing at the side skirt of the tank, the barrel was literally inside the tank. After about 20-50 rounds the tank exploded! I was killed in the explosion too. It was my rounds that killed it, I didn't see anyone else firing at it with anyhing and the kill message confirmed I had killed it with .50 cal. I believe the tank had taken some damage, it might have been smoking but it wasn't burning or anything like that before I started firing at it. I wonder if this has already been taken note of? It isn't such a bug you need to make a hotfix for but I just wanted to inform you all. I tried to recreate the situation in my own private game, but all I got was some flying tanks when I tried to exit the tank.:D So you need atleast 2 players to test this. Here's a pic of the situation as I tried to recreate it myself. As I said, I couldn't get the tank just near enoght because it would collide with the .50's barrel and go flying trought the air when I tried to exit it. pzivga3.jpg

Ive killed a sexton with a 50 cal, and you can damage a pz3 with a 50 cal

The .50 cal was designed for the US army with the intention of being a AT/AA gun.

Seeing as it fires a bullet about the same size as the Boys rifle (and similar) does, except at rapid fire, then it stands to reason that it can do some damage as long as you hit the right spot. For example the Matilda 2 can shrug off a hit from an 88, but if you know where to hit it, you can do very small amounts of damage to it with an ATR, i assume you prolly just get very lucky and managed to hit the right spot

Schurzen were made to stop at rounds, it shouldn't be able to penetrate the side...that's...very odd.:uhm:

You might very well think that

It may have something to do with the bullets spawning at the end of the gun, ie inside the tank. Hence, boom?

Yeah, that's my best guess...hope the devs won't have/can fix the glitch in FH2:uhm:

Actually that would be a .30 cal on there...notice the air cooled thingy on the barrel. So in any case it's not realistic at all, a .30 shouldn't penetrate.

Yes but it still isn't it, I KNOW. Look at the .50s mounted on the Shermans and compare them to that, they're totally different. I'm pretty sure it's a .30 cal.
