ok, i had this problem in version 1.9. http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=95088

It still happens in 2.0 but, i noticed that on a few(i mean a few, like 3 or 4) that that problem did not happen. which tells me that it is not my connection(at least im pretty sure it isnt) but is instaed, the servers. i noticed that all the problems that i have had with america's army started after homelan was no longer supported by the army, and they went to sci. and that was back in 1.7

I have tried to stress that fact that me and everyone else feel the effects of lag AFTER i have died until we start a new round(E.G. round 1 ends and we start round 2). this lag also happen when i enter a server and ends when i start playing. so there fore, how can it be a connection problem, when it only happens at specific events in the game. my specs are posted below, could i have something that conflicts with the servers? I havent added my cable router to my specs yet, here it is: Linksys BEFSR41 - EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch. I have opened some ports, but i don't remember where i got that info. plus, i have heard that port triggering is safer.

Try this one:

1. open your americas army\system\armyops.ini file . 2. goto the line where it says: CacheSizeMegs=X (x is a number that may vary). if it says 32, replace it by 64. This increases the cache used by the game.

Save the file.

lol, i forgot to add that i saw that on aaotracker and i did that, so now the setting CacheSizeMegs is 64. would making it larger than 64(say 128) help?

LOL yeah let others be the lab rats first huh...

Well on my system, 64 and 128 doesn't make any noticable difference, so I guess you should stick with 64. :nodding:

Yeah Soloman02 I am getting the same kind of lag as you do... so you are not alone. I am trying to get my ISP to look into this anyway...

did that lag start after sci was declared the "winner" and homelan was shunted away from the army? because all of my connection problems started when they did that.(which was why i could play 1.7 for 2 months til 1.9 came out) then i got that lag in 1.9 plus the servers showing up as none. i still have all the servers show up as none.

oh, and type stat net to get ur real ping. i also changed it to 128, but, my philosphophy is "you can never have too much" especially with cache :)

Actually... no. After SCI took over, my pings went up slightly from 80ish to 130ish... which was fine to me. Then after the Blaster worm thing broke out I started to get lag and ping spikes all the time, so I lag around every so often in the game. That's why I am blaming my ISP instead of the game. Now my pings are averaging 180. I use stat net to look at my ping. It goes like 140, 154, 175, 1020, 2931, 232, 140, 165, etc. Notice that 2931... :wtf:

Everyone lags on the SF servers except the SFPipeline one, so that problem isn't on my end for sure. It's just the ping spikes now that are causing problems. Do you have a firewall? Try checking the firewall log to see.

However I don't have the problem where the servers won't show up. But you can always get ASE to find servers...

I just wish I can get the stupid sping spikes out of the way.

i shouldnt have been affected by the blaster worm, bcuz i have a firewall on my router. and from what i have read, if you have either a software or a hardware(ie: the router firewall) firewall, you can download the updates without much possibility of getting infected with the worm. i will look into that firewall log(although i really don't know what to look for when im in there)

AS you can see, gamingforums software is being a pric and will not let me seperate the numbers, so i did it my way :D . i did have marketscore installed on my comp awhile ago, but i uninstalled it(it is an internet booster, for downloads and web pages) if i uninstalled it, why is it still there? could that be the problem?

NOTE: I had a IE browser open when playing, however, when i normally play, i close GSA and have NO programs running in the backround(well, none in the tray or taskbar )
