Im looking for a good first-person shooter for the PC, either based in the present or in the future, (if possible, something james bond like). So, what do you people recommend?

PS: I already have Halo

How about - James bond Nighthomo..*cough* -*splutter*- sorry... NIGHT-FIRE! or something. Either that or ...give up. Good FPS's are few & far between without getting into specific requirements.

Depends on how far back you're willing to go, but here's all the ones i can think of Doom 1&2 Quake 1, 2 and 3 Unreal 1&2 Half-Life Serious Sam Soldier of Fortune 1&2 Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Blood Kingpin Jedi Knight 1, 2 and academy (yeah, there are also lightsaber duels) Unreal Tournament Call of Duty Vietcong the list goes on. Some of those games are pretty old, but Doom, Unreal and Half-Life are must-haves (old though they are).

well, I'd say Battlefield 1942 if you want a good FPS. Or I'd recommend Unreal Tournament 2004.

No offence but how does that guarantee that you will be able to pick up a 'a good first-person shooter for the PC'? If it is anything like going to the cinema where the chances of seeing a good film are poor... He does also state 'set in the present or in the future, (if possible, something james bond like)'. How will any WWII set fps meet this requirement? Mentioning James Bond like & set in the present or future I would say the Project IGI series, Deus X & Splinter Cell.

Halo:Combat Evolved is one of the best FPS I've ever played.

Single player or MP? Are you one of the ppl who rates RTCW MP highly? Have / do you play ET? How would you compare a good ET game to a good game of HALO? I realise I have quite likely asked a really obtuse question. What the hell...you gotta live sometimes.
