Hello,

I was playing Guadalcanal on the wolf server yesterday, and picked up the mortar kit from one of the mountain bases in an attempt to hit the defence dug in at the village flag. I requested an artillery target so that i could fire from a defensive position without getting sniped. However, i was unable to right click to use the 'artillery camera.' I noticed the barage symbol did not appear above the ammo icon, either. I am just reporting that the artillery cam does not work with the mortar artillery kit. :)

The mortars are just bugged in general. In real life mortars can fire practically on top of the firing position, by firing at 87-88-89 degrees. They shoot way too far, and the adjustment speed is way too high. It's hard to turn them just a little to adjust fire downrange in order to hit a target. They should be slowed down to around the speed of the Katyusha rocket platform.

agreed. but they need to speed up reload time. a good mortar team should fire tons faster than how it is in the game. im not sure about ww2 mortars, but i know modern ones have a small sight so that the crew can aim without a FAO. something like that would be nice.

Yes it would actually, I would love to have a good reference marker to use so I know where to aim at on continuous vollys instead of having to use the clouds/terrain.

hell, the mortars are not even the right kind in game. the deployable ones should stay 60mm. The fixed ones (ala Gold Beach) should be at lease 82mm, if not 120mm!
