On my home network, my buddie and I are trying to coop on a game. The only way we can get the "START GAME" button to "light" is to have the team buttons for both of us left to "?". It would seem logical to me that we could both turn our time icons to "1","2", or "3", and as long as we had one (even two or three), we could play cooperatively.

I'm sure I'm missing something here, as I've been mainly a single player player of Sacrifice, and do not have a lot of experience in MP Sacrifice.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like you were using a 2 player map. If you get on the same team in a 2 player map, who are you going to play against? Try a 3 or 4 player map and add some computer opponents.
