Hello, Everyone. I have just one small question: What exactly is the point to this game? Is this a multiplayer game like Counter-Strike or Battlefeild 1942 or is it a single player game like DOOM or Serious Sam? I know it's a war-type game (judging from the PotDs') and it seems appealing, but before I download it, I just want to know what the game is about. :) So if anyone can give me a response or a link to another page and/or a link to another post from someone who asked the same question, It would be greatly appreciated.

Ya it has two stages really... Training- single player Combat- multi/on- line only(how ever you can practice on the various maps off-line if you choose.) Also they have a database (Auth server) that records your stats. It records your experiance points also known as honor. Once you get to 15 honor you are then givin the chance to become a green beret(SF) and that allows you to mod your gun. It's a great game, give it a go! cya!

Well, this game is primarily a recruiting tool for the U.S. military. It is/was also very Counter Strike-ish with the amount of cheaters out there, but they reportedly have fixed that.

Joint Operations didn't sound as realistic as other games that I have heard of, and FSW was for that XBox thingie. Guess I will stick with Operation Flashpoint. :)

FSW looks great, but its not first person. It's more of a stradegy type game where you command your team. I still can't wait though, again, the graphics are awesome and the team awareness and AI are more realistic than a lot of games.
