Anyway we can force the game to work in opengl. It would be good. that way i wouldnt be FORCED to buy high end hardware to play the game I think they took the opengl libraries, we could try to get that from the unreal game engine since its the same. I dont have unreal so i guess i can´t even try. i have a kyro 2 64mb, as u can seen in a lot of pages they say i can´t play the game, and i actually can with no problems. Well only one maybe.. it sucks at D3D, and i got 10 fps as best :) Any help?
Just be patient, with the new code drop from Epic, AA might support OpenGL. I've tried enabling it using ini files from UT2003, but no such luck, the code just isn't there.
Ok, ty. Know any links regarding that issue?
Well, here's a link with info on how to switch to OpenGL instead of D3D. http://users.pandora.be/byeclan/UT2003FAQ/tweaksandfixes-d3dopengl.htm I haven't tried this with the lateset AA patch, who knows, might work. My Radeon can handle D3D at some pretty good framerates, so I'm not too worried about switching except for the coolness factor.
I just tried it with version 1.5, and it says it can't find the OpenGL code for rendering. So, we're gonna have to wait.
:( i dont think they will let us use opengl, anyway im buying a new card... which will cost me a lot.
Well, I think the code drop they're putting in from Epic should have OpenGL support, because it does have OpenGL support in UT2003. However, buying a new card might be a good idea anyways, because then you'll have better framerates and better detail at higher resolutions. Before I got my Radeon 8500 I had to run the game at 640x480 or it wasn't even playable!
Just installed a new one, gonna try it out to check fps. I bought the ti 4400, i hope it gives what it took to buy, 215 Euros +/- equivalent to dollars
The Ti 4400 should play the game nicely. Let me know if you have any trouble I'll be glad to try to help further.
