Well... I have a problem with Rainbow Six 3... Here is the error I get. OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 3261 MHz with 511MB RAM Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5950 Ultra (5664) General protection fault!

History: ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

I get this error when trying to start Raven Shield or Athena's Sword... I can play and setup the game once after I install but as soon as I quit or restart my computer the game never runs again until I reinstall again :( It gets to the opening video and then crashes.

I had no clue about this problem myself but, i checked the RS site and came across a possible solution although it's meant for Radeon cards (since thats the supposed culprit)...might work for your Nvidia card.

This is an issue we are currently looking into. It seems to be a problem with certain Radeon video card models. Until we can fully resolve this problem, please try this workaround:

You will need to edit the Direct3D Compatibility Settings of the Radeon graphic card. Go into the advanced display properties for your video card, and under the Direct3D settings, change the Z-Buffer depth settings from 'enabled' to 'disabled'. Basically, you will need to disable the Direct3D Z-Buffer settings for your video card. This should resolve the problem.
