Ok, I was wondering what the must have games are for Christmas. On all of these, which is the best
Sacrifice The longest JOurney American Magies Alice Diablo2
Or anythign else?
Please, if you know which game is the MUST GAME, please tell me for i would greatly aprreciate it. And if you could, tell me why.
I dont know much about the other 2, but Sacrifice beats Diablo 2 hands down. Its not even close.
Diablo 2 is so repetitive that it becomes mind numbing after 1 day (or less). The best thing about it are the cinematics, which were very well done... but bnet has godawful lag, and as I said before, it is repetitive to the point of stupidity.
Sacrifice not only has incredible graphics, but each game is different, with a very high replay value.
What?! How could you leave Tribes 2 off that list!
Alright, so a new list
Sacrifice The LOngest Journey American Magiees Alice Tribes 2
What the BEST ONE a MUST HAVE?
Well... if you liked Diablo, you'll find that Diablo 2 is even better, but it is mostly more of the same. At least the secure battle.net servers took care of a lot of the cheating problems that plagued Diablo. I've heard that The Longest Journey is one of the best adventure games ever, but I don't know anyone who has tried it. Tribes might be good, but team-based FPS games are a dime a dozen these days... Really I think most people here would pick Sacrifice (it IS a Sacrifice forum) but really you can't go wrong with any of those choices. Addendum - I tried the Alice demo... it looks very nice, but gameplay-wise there is nothing to distinguish it from any other FPS such as Q3Arena, UT, etc., other than the fact that is doesn't have multiplayer support. I'd avoid that one until it hits the bargain shelf of your local game store.

It's American McGee's Alice. What computer do you have anyway? I was planning to buy Tribes 2 but my computer barely fits the minimum requirement. Sacrifice runs great even on slow machine. Diablo 2, as mentioned on previous post, is repeatatitive so I wouldn't consider it. Sacrifice is a great game but I would assume the longetivity would be no match for Tribes 2, which is a totally multiplayer based game.
tribes 2 wont make xmas by a long shot...febuary at the earliest it seems
diablo2 isnt all its hyped to be by a long shot. The servers stil suck and honest to god sacrifice runs better then it...diablo2 is several years out of date gfx wise, but runs worse then sac.
Alice sounds like its got a really cool premise and ambiance (with a NIN member on the sound track how could it not?) but falls a little flat in the gameplay department. Or according to other reviews it kicks major butt. The reviews seem split between raves and average.
I've never heard of the longest journey.
As for the guy that said "what about Tribes 2?"
1. It isn't even out yet. 2. It might not even come out before christmas
But Tribes 2 is looking pAwsome. Just like the 1st one did.
Tribes. ahhwhwhhhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
As for my machine.
I have a P3 800 MHZ Sick Sound card 128 meg ram I can handle any game out today.
But thats what i was wondering. Since The LOngest JOurney looks Extrusulatingly cool. But so does Sacrifice. I have the demo of Sacrifice. But it doesn't explain much. Is it THE MUST HAVE GAME of the year? Do you build alot of bulindgs is it all rts like Red alert, or is it an action where you create guys to help you, or an adventure, ok never mind forget the adventure part. Do you get what i mean?
Also, if you respond. Whats your ICQ number? YOu dont have to say, but that way we can talk more
One of the previous posts was right - despite having somewhat dated (mostly sprite-based) graphics, Diablo II runs slower than most of my other games. (On a P III 800, 256 mb ram, geforce 2 etc.)
