I think System Shock 2 has a demo too. I have heard it's a good game, but haven't played it myself. Now Sacrifice, I can vouch for. Too bad you had problems GordoM, I have had maybe 3 crashes in about a month of play. And I blame those on alternately heat and WindowsME. However a small number of people have reported a lot of crashes with no discernable cause. Also, a few people have trouble doing internet games because Sacrifice uses DirectPlay. But the majority of us appear to have either no problems are easily solved ones. Of course, Shiny is doing a great job of product support.

System Shock 2. Jesus, what a frightening game!

To be honest, I've tried playing it at least 3 times, but I always get so damn scared after half an hour or so into the game. Those things come out of the shadows, boom boom you're dead.. You don't even have a decent weapon to start with. God, what a game. The only game to give me such a real fright that I just couldn't play it.

Believe it or not, System Shock (1) was even better. The voice acting in the CD-enhanced version was the best I have ever experienced in a PC game. The graphics were excellent at that time, although the ability to run in it SUPER VGA mode would grind your 486 dx4 powerhouse machine to a halt smile.gif Seriously though it's the most frightening game I have ever played, although SS2 and Alone in the Dark come close. Don't try to play it in the dark with headphones on - those mutants lurching out of the shadows will take years off your life.
