This has happened to me three times already and I'm rather annoyed, so I decided to report it. :D

This bug is rather rare and random. You're a squad leader and you have a squad with a couple of squad members. Apparently you get kicked or leave your own squad and join a completely new, empty squad. So far this only came to my attention when giving squad commands or trying to select the officer kit, though I don't think it's connected to that.

You accidentally hit the "Create New Squad" button. My advice is to remap it or unmap it entirely. The remap thing is at the bottom of the second column of the "Common" controls tab.

You cant create a new squad, if you are allready in a squad. You have to leave the old squad first, to create the new squad.

No, trust me, if you hit that button, it automatically makes you leave your squad and create a new one. Just remap it.

Perhaps there is some key short cut for that, but I assure you I did not click anywhere near Create New Squad.

I have been playing FH2 as a dedicated squadleader for over a year now, but never have I experienced this kind of bug. However, until this day I never knew you could create a new squad by the touch of one button. So I did some offline tests in order to duplicate the bug, but in the end I wasn't able to pull it off. I wasn't kicked from my own squad by pressing the shortcut key for creating a new squad. I wasn't kicked from my squad by using both the com rose or mini map command menu in combination with the shortcut key for creating a new squad. I wasn't kicked from my squad when I selected the officer kit.

It could be that this ''bug'' is somehow related to a certain server setting, but I have to admit that I'm not familiar with that subject. So what follows is highly hypothetic. Maybe on some servers you don't have to leave a squad in order to create a new one. So if you accidentally press this ''squad shortcut button'' you create a new one, like Ionizer says. Or maybe on some servers if you get invited to join another squad you don't have to leave your old squad in order to join it. You can't see this invitation if you have the 'opt out of voting' option enabled in the game option menu, but if you push the 'pgup' button - for instance to say 'roger that' to one of your fellow squadmates - you get switched.

You guys might think I'm insane, but I swear that I once had my shortcut key to "Create New Squad" mapped to my Backspace Key (which is very close to my main playing area on the keyboard, I have weird settings >_>). I would occasionally hit the Backspace by accident (it's very close to my Enter Vehicle button [Delete] and my Squad Interface button [Insert]) and I would create a whole new squad, regardless of whether or not I was in one already.

After I lost my position as Squad Leader one too many times (and the new SL didn't give me the position back by leaving and reentering the squad), I remapped the button to the Alt key on the other side of the keyboard and haven't had this problem since.

If nothing else, at least try remapping it. It might just work.

Default key is "Ins", and it works as described (makes you leave the current squad and create a new one with default settings), at least on hslan. Just remap it.

That would explain a few things...

I set my Fraps screenshot button to Insert. :uhoh: ;)
