I have noticed in pretty much every tank I have been in that the "frame" around the drivers window when you are driving a tank appear slightly infront of the turret. This means around the frame of the letterbox viewing port you can see the world outside, where in 0.67 you would see the inside "wall" of the turret. In external view you can sometimes see the mantlet the tank player would be looking through floating away from the tank hull in mid air. I have also seen this in the hull gunner position. I can provide screen shots if required.

Screenshots would be very helpful. Is it a general problem or does it only happen with certain vehicles?

Below are two examples - first one is the hull MG position in a hago on saipan-1944 and is probably the most noticable with the significant border around the mantlet. The second is the main gun position on the panzer3J from aberdeen. The picture as seen for the panzer3 is how I am seeing the main gun on every tank I tried - with the cut out corners at the lower right/left where you can see the ground. Every tank I have been in has been like this.

I have not been able to duplicate the external view myself but I observed the external floating texture on the hago turret MG position on either saipan-1944 or adak island. I do not know if anyone was manning the gun at the time, but I will keep an eye out for any future occurances.

That's odd, never encountered such a "cab" error myself during betatesting, and neither did any of the other beta testers I think. Might be your graphics (settings of your system, hardware etc.) ? Buggy install? A retarded blind betatest team (:P)?

You know, this could happen if he had a non-standard resolution, but i checked the dimensions of the picture, it's a standard 4:3 resolution, so that is out of the question now...

Thats because none of your beta testers had the audacity to cheat while beta testing

Below are 2 screenshots, one with ????????.fieldOfView 1 and another with ????????.fieldOfView 1.7 (i am putting "?"s to avoid exposing this, but those in the know would know what those "?" stand for and which file they are in)

Anyone that looks at those 2 screens can draw a conclusion as to what exactly this setting does. It widens your POV (and since tank-sights were not designed with cheaters in mind, they are not as wide as the widened screen after the hack is applied)

True... he loses some long distance vision... but in some situations the wide vision is more beneficial then long distance... And this hack can be reversed to give him a more narrow vision yet longer view distance....

Tsk tsk, evil.rusk, and i wondered how you could spot me when i was moving onto you from your blind spot..... Now care to explain why you got those files modified? After all, externally modifying files to change settings not accessible through the game interface, with the intend to gain an advantage over the others (wider POV in this case) is exactly what constitutes... you guessed it, hacking!

I've lost faith in this community now...

No need, its not a bug, as you can see. Now it's upto the server admins to take a look at this guy's CD hash :deal:

It does not remove the fog and it does not extend the map-defined render distance, but yes snipers can take great advantage of that

Downloaded? Doubt it, it's in a file that's not usually modified by patches/mods/any other downloads. But it's not FH specific, so the setting could have been there from long ago
