i dont understand y everyone calls xbox a computer. the killer hardware beats ps2 and gc combined. The online play is amazing if u guys have ever tried it. The best online palying ive ever seen, even better than pc. With voice communication for every game it is the shiz.

3 or so good titles? Halo, pgr, doa3, splinter cell, hunter the reckoning, jet set radio future, shenmue 2, ghost recon, mechassault, Unreal championship, and games like fable, HALO2, TC raven Shield, midtown madness 3, return to castle wolfenstien, pgr2....so on

any one of those games beats mario or metroid(no multiplayer at all(lame))

its so expensive..really it is. 199 for xbox and 2 games, 30 for dvd remote(unless you already paid 100 or so for your dvd player), 0 for mem cards cause you dont need them.

dont go x? wtf is wrong with u. still stuck on playin those single player 12 yr old games? get xbox and Live and start playing real games:rock:

Gentlemen please. Lets not get into arguments untill after we have gone over all the consoles! I think it's about time to start gamecube week(month) and then we can talk about the reviews that have been posted. Mario, if you will please start us on Gamecube.

I would agree I feel that M$ has attracted the p.c market, but who cares? I feel it's not fair just keep labeling the x-box CONSOLE a p.c in a box there will be SOME games that are suitable for consoles, but not for the p.c. I h8 the x-box aswell ,but their iz no point in keep dising the console, cos it's not getting us ne where is it? :uhm:

bah to all the naysayers this talk of "i dont own and xbox, but so i've heard" is just hillarious

let me start off - i love games - love them, collect them, consoles, software, it doesnt matter i collect anything gaming related.

I own an xbox, ive owned one since january 2001, and believe me - i am more than satisfied with it, ps2 cant hold a nickle to it, although the ps2 fans seem to think that it can

microsoft greedy? maybe yes - but disregard who makes the machine for a second and think about this 1. They're losing around 100 or so on each console 2. They include 4 gameports unlike ps2 (multi tap = 30 bucks...) 3. Hard drive built in, no use for memorycards unless your taking a game save to a friends house or something. ps2 and gc cant compete with that money saving utility, as well as what it can open up to game developers (caching data for faster loads, leaving games open for additional content to be used like doa3's booster pack that had new costumes) hard drive for ps2 is rumored to cost 100 dollars... 4. Built in ethernet connection, yes smart move in my eyes, they planned on being online - and are now for the low price of 50 dollars a year with no subscriptions to individual games(there is talk of each year costing 50 as well), broadband only is slightly a drag for 56kers, but it makes games virtually lag free.. but i will admit yes there can be horrible lag, but that ratio is like 1 out of 80 matches, and is because of the person hosting not the network its self. GC and PS2's online adapters cost 30-40 bucks.

"xboxkicksmajorass" shouldnt rag on single player games there are many that are awesome, and shouldnt be judged.

he does have a point about the 2 free sega games/controller s bundle for 200 bucks, thats a hell of a deal

to sum up my argument i think that you shouldnt judge a console unless you know a lot about it, and give xbox a chance, it might be better than you think.

I may be new, but if mario wont start gamecube week, i will muahaha

Pro's ---------- - Small, compact, easy to travel - some might say stylish - 1st party wireless controller, from what i hear rocks (as soon as i get my cube, i can judge it myself, i have the controller already heh) - Slew of awesome 1st party games (metroid, mario sunshine, mario party, smash brothers, soon zelda) - Good multiplayer (something ps2 can dream of) - comes in various colors - uses smaller discs which can be easily transported via pocket - more powerful than ps2 with a 435mhz processor(aprox. i dont know the exact number off hand) - offers online to broadband and narrowband

Cons ---------- - online service costs per game (PSO=8 bucks a month :( ) - smaller discs can only hold 1.5 gig, unlike their bigger brethren - cant play dvds, but oh well most people have stand alone anyway - not as many good 3rd party games as xbox or ps2 (i expect to get flamed on this one) - uses memory cards, which if you game often may be a bit costly(also nintendo kinda screwed their first gen owners by releasing the 51, they really should have released the 251 instead of it) - dolby pro logic in game, instead of 5.1 or etc (yeah this is just a tech geek complaint)

comments and flames are welcome

not as many good 3rd party games as xbox or ps2

One minor point. Most third party games for the Gamecube are on the X-box and PS2 as well, so in efect you have attacked them too. But it's a minor point. I'll say just a few things you left out. Pros --- Sega and Capcom are leaning towards Nintendo. Must stuff for Gamecube is cheap, unlike all of the other consoles. Can link with GBA for extra features. Nifty little screens that let you take your Gamecube on the road. I'm sure there are other thing, but I'll let other people say them.

Cons --- Online's not that great. Controllers wear out a after a lot of hard use, I must say that the Gamecube is perhaps one of Nintendo's weakest products as far as durablty. Not much else I can think of, but I'm a little biased.

All in all, a great console with the with many quality titles. However most of the titles can be picked up on other consoles.

But if you are a horror, nintendo or varity fan this is the console for you.
