Good to see the bug reporting was wiped for the new patch :P But, has this bug been fixed? On the Valentine (clan mate says Mtty too), a person sitting on the back of the tank 'cannot' and I repeat, I shot and shot and shot as did many other teammates, be killed. They kept spraying us with Thommy fire while we could do nothing :O

Ugh, I hate that glitch so very much. I did find that HE shells work, Pz2 at least. But bullets will not touch them

Looks like the collision mesh of the tank is bigger than the tank itself - thereby protecting the persons sitting on the back. IIRC the bofors suffers from the same problem. If its gun barrel is raised you can't shoot the guy operating the gun...

Yesterday I shot people sitting at the back of a Valentine. The distance was quite long for my MP40. Obviously it's not impossible to shoot people sitting there.

Maybe the hitboxes are messed up and it's more difficult to shoot when you're closer to the tank.

I seem to remember that the tank riders' hitboxes were in somewhat different positions than where their bodies appeared in-game. Can't remember exactly where, though. So if you aim for the riders with a rifle, you'll probably miss their hitboxes, but spraying the tank with HE shells, grenades, or sustained MG/SMG fire gets the work done. No idea if this was fixed in the patch, we'll see in a few days.

I too think its something like that because I've had problems killing tank passangers with rifles but anything else seems to kill them rather easily. And most likely it gets stranger when tanks are moving thanks to BF2 wierd hit box lag.

Rifles only? PAH! Last week, I was lying 9 o'clock of a Matilda with a person spawning on its back. I fired ~25 rounds on him with my MG34 of which at least 15 hit, just to be killed with his No4. Gr...

If splash damage/HE is killing the passengers, then its most likely that the vehicle isn't coded as an "open vehicle". And here rises a new problem. If they coded it as an open vehicle ,then the driver/co gunners will be getting killed by splash damage as well. double edged sword :(

Not sure if one can code the PCO's on an PCO differently never tried or tested this myself.

PlayerControlObject tank driver ObjectTemplate.isOpenVehicle 0

PlayerControlObject tank gunner ObjectTemplate.isOpenVehicle 0

PlayerControlObject tank passenger1 ObjectTemplate.isOpenVehicle 1

PlayerControlObject tank passenger2 ObjectTemplate.isOpenVehicle 1

.::Edit::. seams they did try that in version 1 :(
