I just downloaded FH last week, and have been playing it whenever I get a chance since then. I love the mod (don't love the loading times) but I've got some issues. I tried the Single Player campaign just so I could try all the maps out and see how they all fit together historically, but I get the wrong descriptions for the maps. Fall Weiss was the first map for the campaign, which makes sense, but it gives me the description for another map, one of the original maps on BF1942 actually, though I don't remember which one. It sucks playing the maps when I don't get to read the actual history behind them and see how they all fit together in chronological order. As an added deterrent to my campaing playing, the game crashes every time I load Tobruk, which is like the 4th or 5th campaign map. Also, when you finish a game, whether on campaign or instant battle, it gives you the results for the wrong map. Example: you just won Iwo Jima as the allies, and the description says "the Germans were caught by surprise at Omaha Beach, and were no match for the overwhelming Allied force" or something to that effect. The game still rocks, but come on, I at least want to read the correct descriptions before and after playing maps!

It's probably the last thing a modteam is going to work on, you should be happy that there are as many co-op maps because lots of mods don't even have decent ones let alone a working campaign. I've never even played campaign in bf1942. Also remember that it's alot of work to write a map description for every map you're going to play. And get a gig of ram and the loading time isn't that bad.

I understand about the campaign being a lot of work, so I can live without that. But adding a paragraph worth of text to each new map? That amounts to nothing compared to the amount of work they put into these maps, and it would make them a bit more enjoyable for me to know what the hell is going on for the map instead of just hopping in and fighting. Since this is a WWII game, it might as well take advantage of the fact that we are, in a way, recreating historical battles. Fill us in, let us know when and why this battle happenend, and the consequences of what would happen if either side won. It makes it more enjoyable for me (and I'm sure some of you other players) to know why I'm fighting on a certain map. If I don't know when, why or how a battle happened, then playing that battle, although fun, has no more relevance than playing a randomly generated map. I just don't understand how the FH people went through such a massive amount of effort to give us this ultra-realistic, ultra-fun WWII game and didn't bother to give us a little background on the maps. It's not like they don't know their history. They've added hundreds of historically accurate vehicles and dozens of new maps to BF1942, so they've got to know the histories behind the maps. All it would take is for one of them to sit down and type for about five minutes, and we'd all know a little more history and have more reason to get into the maps more. To me, it's like sending a man to the moon and not having him take a picture of the earth while he's up there. It costs nothing, and adds a lot.

i didnt think anyone played single player mode for FH. That is not a bad idea to put a little history somthing to read on the loading screen for those people like me who only have 512 ram and have long load times. Personally if i dont know the history behind a map i will read a book though.

Well I kinda like the loading screens of FH, I don't want any information on it. Besides it's only interesting the first time you play the map. I can't imagine playing FH with just 512 mb ram.
