Right, well, this isn't specifically about FH2, but I figured that the people here would be more helpful. I got a new computer for Christmas, and I so went to reinstall BF2, and FH2. So, when i try to install Bf2, it first gives me a little warning that it has only been tested for Windows XP. I thought that shouldn't be a problem, so I proceeded. Now, the little installation bar stops at C:\... \EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects_client..zip and then it tells me that the installation has failed, and that I must try again. Would anyone be able to help, 'cause I really want to play FH2 again.

What OS are you using? Vista? Are you an admin on the pc?

Vista, and yes, I'm admin. I wasn't too happy about Vista, but I accepted the inevitable.

When you Instal games on vista you usually have to Right click on the Icon and change to "run as admin" and if possible go to Compatibility settings and change to "Run in Xp mode"

I have Vista and have had no real problems with it when installing Stuff. If I run into a problem I just switch to XP compatibility and run as admin, and it installs properly.

(I think Vista "Real problems" happen when people upgrade their XP machines to Vista ones. If you buy one new with vista there should be no problem that isn't easily solved)

Forgive me for being terrible with computers, but i can't actually find any "Run as admin" button. Really, I'm pretty incompetent when it comes to things like this.

I've done that, but i can't find any sort of "run as administrator/XP" tabs. I just get little tabs that say "General, Hardware, Sharing, Customize and Recording".

one of 2 things try doing. "Explore" the BF2 cd (Right click on your CD drive and click Explore.) Find the "Autorun.exe" right click on that then the compatibility menu should be there.

If it doesn't install, Check your firewall, It might be messing with it. (If it is blocking BF2 allow it instead)

You don't need the run as admin button since you are the admin. Firewall also isn't the problem. So are you installing this from DVD or do you use the EA Download store thingy.

I suggest try to install again, if you hadn't done that already. Also see if you can borrow a BF2 copy from a friend and use that to install it ,as long as you use your own serial.
