Hey, I just downloaded FH but it won't work. I installed it in the correct order (in the absurd case someone didn't know, it's "1", "2", and then finally "3"), but the loading screens are grey and the game crashes or when I try to load maps. This happens on both Co-op and Conquest maps (oh, and on Battle of Britain). The other modifications I have work fine. I have BF 1.6. System: Windows XP 256 MB RAM (+Page file of maximum size)

OK, thanks, Strider, but I already read all those. No luck.

- I have disabled HW Acceleration. - I have not installed or even downloaded any earlier versions. - I'm 100% sure the mod is installed in the right order because I've probably done it 5 times by now. - My computer meets BF1942's system requirements and other modifications run fine. - Light Maps are on (not that that would make a difference:rolleyes:). Oh, and only some map loader BG screens are gray, others are fine. And pretty;).

Ive heard that people can play FH perfectly with a 1,4 P3 BUT you have to get a lot of RAM! Best would be 1024. Getting another 512 MBs if you already have 512 will speed up the maploading speeds so that maps load 3 times quicker than with 512 + make FH run MUCH smoother.

So do you mean that if I have 256 MB Ram, I can't play FH or even load the maps? That sounds weird to me, no offense.

256MB of RAM just won't cut it. The stress put on your system might be too much for it to handle resulting in crashes or restarts.

Have you ever gotten a map to load even a single time? Or does it always crash?

These work so far: -Crete -El Alamein (FH version) -Arnhem -Battle of Britain (FH version) These don't: -Alpenfestung (can't put those dots over the 'u' 'cause I don't have a German keyboard) -Bombing the Reich -Adak Island -Battle of Midway (FH) -Coral Sea (FH) I'll post more as I try them. I've set my Paging File back to 4 Giga Bytes. On a side note, it's not on a 1-1 basis, is it? I mean, you don't suddenly have 4 GB Ram if you have a 4 GB paging file, right? Safe Keeper

OK, new stuff: Yes, BG is grey, but these maps still work anyway: Bombing the reich Omaha Beach, Charlie Sector

Haven't tested others yet.

Graphics card: S3 SuperSavage/IXC 1179 16 MB My parents' laptop.. using it until I get my computer to work.

I've never experienced this before. From my experience, if the BG is grey, it means some file is missing and that you can't use the mod'...

I wouldn't be surprised if that piece of crap video card is conking out because it can't handle all the data being pushed on it. 16MB is woefully insufficient. My old card was a Geforce3 Ti500 with 64MB of RAM, and it barely ran FH. 128MB of VRAM is probably the minimum for decent performance, or even better 256MB.
