Every once in a while, my BF1942 (playing FH, of course) will crash while loading, or unloading, or changing the map. It does this when the screen goes black for the resolution while it checks the CD. I know it has crashed when the screen pops up with the DOS loading screen instead of the FH loading screen. This is only time I get these crashes.
Before I upgraded my PSU, I had problems with 3-D apps crashing due to insufficient amperage on the +12V power rail. I thought that these occasional crashes in BF1942 were also due to this, but after I installed my new PSU, all the crashing ceased except for these. It is definitely not a power issue; this new PSU is an absolute beast. I have the current BF1942 patch and everything, plenty of free RAM, virtual memory, and page file... defragged a couple days ago. It isn't a heating issue either; I stress-tested my setup last night for an hour; CPU temp topped out at 56C, case temp at 37C. Both PSU fans running at max RPM. Both rear 120mm case fans running at 8000 RPM. 80mm case side fan running at 5000RPM. Both front case fans running at 6000RPM. CPU fan running at constant max RPM. GPU fan running at constant max RPM. No cables are dangling to obstruct airflow.
Is this a known issue with BF1942?
