First lemme say "Hi!" because it's my first post here ...
Well, now my problem: Last week, I bought BF1942 WW2 Anthology and it worked fine, yesterday I installed FH 0.61 and now my CD key won't be accepted for internet play. Even un-installing FH and the whole game doesn't help here. Any ideas aside from sending my game to EA and waiting for weeks to get it back???
First of all: Welcome to the forums! Now to your problem. That sounds really weird to me. I don't have any idea how Forgotten Hope may effect your Battlefield 1942 key because there are only files installed to: X:\BFDIRECTORY\MODS\FH I would like to have some more information if possible: Errormessage you get? What files installed in which order? Punkbuster enabled? And before sending your game back: Uninstall and try installing it following way: Battlefield 1942 Road to Rome Secret Weapons Battelfield 1942 Patch to 1.6 Forgotten Hope 0.6 1/2 Forgotten Hope 0.6 2/2 Forgotten Hope 0.61
I experienced the same problem with my edition of BF 1942 WWII Anthology. Even though I can't play forgotten hope my cd keys are still accepted while playing the original games. Any solution?
The CD key is stored in the registry, FH shouldn't touch that at all. What does the game say? Invalid CD key, or CD key in use?
No offense but aren't you trying to ask for a cd key after have been downloaded Bf on the net hmmm? ;0)
To Fenghal: Didn't you get the point out of "... bought the game..."? And btw I didn't ask for anything but for help.
To: Major Hartmann: It says "invalid cd-key". It is a bit strange since the original games accept the keys.
That's more than just weird. Why and how should we implement a CD Key check?!? Well - only thing I know for now, when all other games run just fine: Try a reinstall and hope it works... I'm sorry I have no other suggestions. First time I heard that issue and depending on the way FH "works" it isn't possible - at least I thiught...
Thanks PzReg1|BUGS! I will reinstall FH and see if it works and tell you then.
Good luck! P.S. Maybe a complete reinstall of BF would be the better solution... because as already mentioned FH only extracts files while installing... so BF itself could be the reason (although I have to admin I am wondering why only FH is affected. It just makes no sense... *weird*)
First of all Hello to all, my very first post here. :D I experienced the same problem, this afternoon i bought BF42 WW II Anthology. I installed BF42 + RtR + SWoWW2 + FH and try to connect to a FH server, only thing i got was a errormessage "invalid cd key". Nothing i tried worked, used a different machine another OS etc.. Even a basic installation of just BF42 got me this errormessage. It's realy annoying. If you google a bit you will find a ton of threads with this problem, most of them concern BF42 WWII Anthology, so it seems its either a bug or all those keys of this compilation are crap. beowulf P.S.: yes my english is bad, missed to many englishlessons. :)
