I've got a problem that I can't find an answer to, even though I've looked all over for it. Whenever I try to play a FH map, singleplayer or multiplayer, it loads the map then closes the game and goes to my desktop. Any ideas? I'm using .7 and installed in order.

I don't think it is required for singleplayer, or multiplayer for that matter. However if you try to join a server, which is up to date you get an error message about it.
There is however absolutely no reason at all not to install it ^_^
Try searching for crash to desktop in combination with battlefield related search terms on google. It seems you have this very annoying bug. The fix for me was too run an iso from my bf1942 cdrom... It is however not guaranteed that this solution will work for you, I'm afraid...
Well turns out the patch is what I needed. So if anyone else has my same problem, tell them the patch might fix it. Thanks anyway kouji.

What patch was it? I'm having the very same problems, and it's killing me because I love FH...What patch was it?:????
No one here will help me here, with this. I guess,I'll have to look elsewhere for help..
its the 1.6 or 1.6b, check it out here:
I have a problem with that too.....I usually go to normal bf1942 and then select fh on custom game, and during the process of changing over to fh I get this message that says bf1942 error. It gives me three options; abort, retry, or ignore. abort just exits the game, and when i press retry it just says that bf1942.exe has experienced a problem and needs to close. If I ignore it it goes over to fh and it seems normal, but when I try to load a map (single or multiplayer) it crashes.
RedSand;3609928its the 1.6 or 1.6b, check it out here: http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi...nt_Patch;23189 http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi..._to_161b;33702
Thank you so much. It worked like a charm. I used the first link. Should I install the second as well?
