Evening all, my first post here. Im sure alot of you are having problems installing this mod when you have installed the downloaded version of the game. I myself have had the same problem. The BF2 Downloaded EXE opens up as soon as you click any link to the game, this is so that it can be verified by EA as a valid version of the game. since bf2.exe opens up first, fh2.exe can not correctly move files around, and you get the warning bik message that you need to correct your links and to open up fh2.exe first. I Verified this problem because i have the CD version of the game also, but i lost my CD key so i downloaded and paid for a new version a few nights ago so i could install it. Tonight i tried alot of stuff and then this solution came to mind. I got a friend of mine to send me a copy of his bf2.exe which i believed would tell the game to look for authenticity from my dvd "Which is in my drive" instead of opening bf2.exe to go online and search. As soon as i replaced my bf2.exe and then clicked on my fh2.exe link, the game started first time with no problems at all. Hope this will help the dev's find a work around to this problem for people who are not as fortunate as me to also own the dvd. Enjoy BTW, i am running this game on Windows XP Home edition SP2.

Could you take a screenshot of your shortcut properties which launches your downloaded BF2 version? What happens if you use FH2 directly? Does BF2 refuse to start in some way?

If i click to use FH2 directly, The game comes up with 2 pop-ups about not being able to move files "and BF2.exe opens up in the task manager". When the game starts to load up after clicking yes to continue at these prompts, it comes up with the warning screen asking you to check the links as you started the game through BF2. I have not changed any shortcuts but just the exe itself. I Believe on the downloaded EXE there is a portion of the file that requests authorisation b4 the game loads from the desktop. With the dvd version it requests authorisation before the map loads and you connect to a server. the actual properties for the shortcuts i have not changed, just the exe file they link to. Since i replaced bf2.exe, the game will not load up without my dvd present.

Is the warning screen the FH2 one? Or something else -- can I have a screenshot if so? Can you give me the path of your working shortcut for the downloaded version?

i got over this problem by right clicking bf2 main directory, properties and unticking the read only, I can only think in my case, after moving my game directories to another drive, and back again after a clean format of my games drive, some of the relevant files got read only properties on them. It worked for me.
