I have not been able to defrag my computer for some time now so I decided to see if anyone can help. If I click on the Disk Defragmention icon the little hourglass appears for a sec but then nothing happens. If I run command and try to run defrag it says access denied which is confusing since im an administrator. I have run chkdsk, Ad-aware and scanned for virus but to no avail. Usually when I run chkdsk it finds some sort of errors but it does not help. I also cannot use things such as device manager or add/remove programs. It does not make any sense at all because basically all that I do on this computer is play FH and nothing else seems to be working incorrectly.

Sounds like a problem I was having when trying to run disk cleanup, basically it would just use 100% of the cpu indefinatly. I ran all sorts of scans with norton system works, adaware, spybot and also with windows built in chkdsk. I was able to run everything else without a fault. So I desided to browse through my hard drive looking for strage things, I manages to find 2 files releated to an easports website. The files seemed to be fine but would not allow access or allow themselves to be altered in anyway. I eventually thought to use the command console and was able to erase the files, after that I haven't had a problem.

Where did you find them? I will probably be able to find bad files but I do not really feel like searching right now.
