Tonight, FH was crashing my PC after about 10 minuits of playing. My screen goes black and I can only return to the desktop by pressing ctrl+alt+del. So far Eastern Blitz crashed twice and Kasserine pass once all within an hour. I never had problems with FH before and I was able to play 0.66 for hours on end a few days ago. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong ? AMD Barton 2600+ 2x512 DDR-400 RAM Windwos XP Home-up to date Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB
try a reinstall and make sure no other programs are running while playing fh. the screen goes only black without a message ? maybe ur cpu gets too hot or something ...
Any new drivers or programs installed?
Not since last playing.
And I´m still capable of playing other Hardwareintesiv game (Vampires: Bloodlines at the moment).
I can also cancel out any spyware problems or other newbie stuff like that.
I did install the latest Omega drivers a week ago instead of the newest ATI drivers. But I´ve played FH 0.66 since so I´m not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Question is if you did a restart before playing or not ;)
Hmm, I´ve reinstalled FH and got rid of the Omega drivers (although it turned out they wern´t the actual problem).
I also checked by temperatures but my case is around 42°C and my CPU around 55°C so I don´t think thats any problem.
Funny thing is so, that I can still hear the sounds of battle when my screen goes black, and I can still shoot. Its just my screen dies.
The frsh install seemed to have helped a bit, but I still get randomly "disconnected" after a few minuites on just about every server. I´ve updates Punk Buster but I don´t think that was causing the problem.
A case temp of 42 degrees? How hot is your vid card, mewonders.

How do I find that out ? But still, my bros been playing Vampire-Bloodlines for hours on end without it crashing. Yet I am rather curious about my GPU temperature...
Ati`s 9800xt and later has a built in temp.probe.Personally I happened to buy a fancontroller with multiple probes, stuck one of them under the top heatsink on my 9800 pro,and saw 75 celsius there.
It never crashed, but ran poorly at times,so it was time for some caseventing.
