That problem sounds more like the crash to desktop bug then anything Vista related though Taz. Have a look in my sig for possible ways to fix this (not guarranteed, I'm afraid :( )
Welcome to the forums Tazman123! Is this a custom map you're trying to run? If yes, download a debugger and see if it cares to point out what might be the problem. If this map certainly works on other Windowses, make sure you've done everything as you should with the compatibility settings: http://forums.filefront.com/fh-help-support/321910-forgotten-hope-battlefield-1942-windows-vista.html
thank you for all of ur help guys i recently downgraded my computer back to XP Vista is too new for most of my games like medal of honor, call of duty ect. but i now have FH running fine thx again
I'm running FH on Vista. I believe I have the most current Beta drivers and yes the run as Admin and compatibility Win 98, even for the ASE. Looks good but appears to have lag in some instances for me. Punkbuster had to be loaded manually at first but no problems since.
i got the same problem and nothing works if im trying to run it in windows 98/me he crashes to desktop when I try to load a map and if i run it in administrator 2 , can someone help me ??
Have you downloaded latest drivers for all your hardware? What version of Vista are you running? Are you certain that you applied the nececary compatibility settings to Bf42's executive?
im running vista home basic i will check my drivers ;)
Also, make sure you did everything concerning compatibility settings as described here.
There are major graphics issues with Vista and Nvidia cards from what I've heard. To get the right drivers are very important. Also, all mother boards don't support Vista, I've got an Asus A8N-SLI that technically doesn't support Vista but I can run it. That is certain to cause some issues. I've got minor ones and some of the bigger ones have seem to leveled out.
