Well, since i got some new hardware fh causing some problems.

After a while my screen hangs for 1-2 seconds, then my minimap disapears and my own players texture turns black. After a respawn, player teture is normal again but minimap is still gone. The normal map wont open, too. Well... the map opens but its just invinvible. Some Huds stuff like caputred spawns dispaly is missing also... crosshair, health and munition is there.

When that bug appears i run into some serious performance problems.

The bug shows up totaly random, at least i havent found a way to dublicate it... besides waiting. As you guess the waitingtime is also absolutly random, sometimes it even dosent happen a whole day... but sometimes every Minute. Only thing that helps is a dc

I dont think that these are heat issus cause all other games and applications run very well.

System: Intel E6600 on a Asus K5 Board 2 GiG Corsair DDR2/800 Rams EVGA GF8800 GTS Audigy 7.1 Soundcard Windows XP SP2

Dont know if it only happens in FH ... never tested in vanilla... but i guess it would

thx for your help mm

sounds rather strange to me, if you replaced the hardware I would suggest making sure the hardware operates properly (for example you might have inserted broken new hardware, it might not be competible etc.) , fragment the HD, make sure I installed FH correctly (re-install) , download the latests drivers etc.

Im going to assume you got a new video card. Sounds like you are still using the old video drivers to me. Or you installed the new vid driver wrong or used the wrong one. Make sure you have the right driver for your new video card uninstall the old driver restart say no to windows default driver install on startup Install the new driver for your vid card, follow instructions.

Sorry to neccro this thread guys, but I have a question for MrMushr00m reguarding this problem and his problems with folding. @MrMushr00m, did you ever resolve this problem? The squirrliness of your game acting up and your Folding work units bombing I'm sure are related. A few questions... 1) Do you have either your CPU or Memory overclocked? if so, try underclocking them a bit and see if the problem persists. 2) Do you have the right speed settings for your ram?. I use corsair in all of my machines. I have had issues with certain DDR1 ram and asus motherboards. I only found the correct ram settings by searching the corsair forums for other people having the same problems. The settings were completely differnt from what the mfg said to use. And automatic detect settings in the bios were WAY off. You might want to run some memory tests also. 3) Do you have a big enough power supply for your video card? The 8800 series are power hungry. I believe they require minimum of 450 watt PSU, and pretty much need their own 12v rail. If you have a few more drives, fans, bling bling lights or whatnot, the power requirements will be that much more. You could be getting a "brown-out" when you CPU and everything is requiring alot of juice.
