Fly Guy,

The problem is that according to Task Manager, nothing is running in the background, I antispyware myself with AdAware and Spybot every week or so,and I run AVG all the time. I don't think there's anything else running in the background.

1.5 GHZ and a Nvidia 5500! Runs Ok.

THIS is what I'm talking about. I run everything low on 1024 *760 and it works. If I go higher, it bogs.

No, it's not BS. Even with the 2.5 gigs of ram (overkill, much?), his processor is still a massive bottleneck for his gaming PC. Overclock your processor as much as you want, you still won't get over the fact that it's a celeron and a piece of junk. There's a reason why intel wanted to get rid of the ghz measure: it doesn't mean crap these days. Scan for spyware, viruses, reformat, whatever. Should get you a decent enough framerate. However, you will NOT be able to run it on medium-high.

Thank you to everyone who has offered help. Except:

No, it's not BS. Even with the 2.5 gigs of ram (overkill, much?), his processor is still a massive bottleneck for his gaming PC.

I meet every benchmark this game requires, I bought extra RAM because it was cheap, and I'm not willing to spend $1k to upgrade to a computer I don't need for anything other than one game.

Overclock your processor as much as you want, you still won't get over the fact that it's a celeron and a piece of junk.

I build computers for a living, and I know how celerons work. They aren't as good as other processors, but they aren't junk. "Celerons are junk!" is the calling cry of teenaged gamers whose mothers pay for their gear.

Thank you for your concern, but if you have nothing to offer other than supercilious childishness...

Seriously, do you talk to people like this in real life?

Celerons aren't as bad as they used to be acutally, they've been silently improving while everyone continues to reem on them. A 2.7 ghz cel should be more than enough to handle FH. Heck my 1.5 GHz Pentium M handles full sets easily until my comp starts overheating on certain maps.(poor ventilation)

I mean FH may push the BF1942 engine, but it's no Oblivion when it comes to specs.

By the way, does the problem occur in single palyer as well?

I get it in most maps in single player. Maps like Bombing the Reich I get about 2 fps, while maps like Battle of Britain I get about 15fps.

Drives me nuts.
