So is it so that AMD/ATI cards have more graphical bugs when running BF2 than 8800 series? I've been thinking of buying that new 4850 card from AMD (not sure anymore as I seem to have resurrected my 7900GTO from its deathbed). So can anyone who have tested that card (or 4870 as isn't that basically same card but with higher clocks and GDDR5 memory?) tell if it has problems with BF2/FH2?
Hmmm odd, I have a HD4850 and my shadows are just fine...
Could it be because I keep Catalyst A.I. at Advanced setting? I use it because some games get nice performance boosts' from it. Other settings I use are 8xAF, Adaptive AA is enabled, mipmap details set to High Quality and ingame AA is set to 8x and.
I would definitly run everything on "use application settings". BF2 used to have real crappy responses to forced AA on my old card. 8xAA from the ingame menu is more than enough! :)
I tried doing that and it didn't help (I deleted graphic cache first with toolbox).
Here few pics:
I used 2 pounder as reference but this shadow thing happens with everything that cast shadows expect with shadowmaps that have been generated to maps.
