My Fellow FHers - While researching my next computer upgrade I do not wish to discount the great repertoire of knowlege that exists here in this forum. What I wish to upgrade is my motherboard, memory and processor as I currently have an Asus A8N-SLI and an AMD-64 3500+. The other important components that I have are a 8800XTS with 320meg and a 650W Antec True PS. The two gigs of Corsair memory probably will need to be upgraded as I probably at least will get a mb with DDR3 capabilities (If possible?). SLI is not important but it looks like a lot of mb manufacturers are cranking this type of board out. A $600.00 USD price tag can be expanded a bit. All input and your time is certainly appreciated! Thanks, Knight

Well, I guess there aren't as many upgraders out there as there used to be... :) That's ok. If anybody is interested, this is the way I decided to go: XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor 2.40GHz OEM, OCZ 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 Memory (2 x 2048MB) (MCM-680ILT-Q6600B) This is through TigerDirect. I had given thought to the Q6700 but I settled on this. The motherboard is pretty hot and a great seller plus is ranked very well. The 780i gives you SLI * 3 and that is overkill. Cheers!

Gen'l Knight I will state the system I recently bought, maybe you can get some ideas from that. This systems plays FH2 on all high with a 1650 x 1050 resolution.

- Core 2 Duo E8400 : It has a great price/performance ratio and a it's great voor Oc'ing

- Geil Value KIT DDR2 PC6400 4GB 2X2GB 800MHz 5-5-5-15 GX24GB6400DC : good memory when you're planning to OC - MSI P35 Neo-FI : Nothing fancy about this MB. No SLI, cause I am not planning on using SLI

- Sapphire ATI HD 3870 512MB : Another great price/performance Card

- Creative SoundBlaster X-FI Gamer : A good soundcard is a must for gamers

- Iiyama 20 E2003WS-B1 : Cheapest 20 inch screen with a 2 ms response time (GtG) that I could find

I use this all with Vista 64 bit and FH2 runs like a KKK member in the Bronx :eek:

ROFL!!! I'm gonna keep my Audigy 2 for a while longer. Yeah, I'd like to upgrade but I don't see a big enough distinction yet that forces my hand... I've got an HPW2207 22" widescreen and absolutely love it. I'll put my rig together with the above mentioned components and maybe we can compare benchmarks... I'd like to take my old stuff and make a second computer but that is down the road a bit as well... It would be better than a Dell Dimm 4400 that currently resides with my son...:)
