I'm very new at this so bear with me. :)

I hosted a dedicated server, using my own gaming machine, for the first time last night. I got a black box that showed frame rates, but no game. I KNOW you can't play from a machine running a DS, but I'd hoped that when I hosted a DS I could at least watch.

Not possible...dedicated servers only use minimal files to run therefore it is not possible to observer unless you are "Hosting" from your game install

So what he's saying is if you want to run a game and watch, you have to open the game, create a server, and run it that way. Not by using the Dedicated Server tool..thing.

Thanks guys.

I've been able to host and play games the usual way with no problem, but I was just setting up a dedicated server for my friends that night since I didn't have time to play. They were able to use it with no problem, but it would have been fun to stop in every once in awhile to watch them.
