I used to play BF1942 religiously when it was the only thing out, and then FH for a bit. I quit FH because of the very poor performance. It was on my old computer and with an Intel Integrated POS for graphics, poor performance was to be expected. While BF1942 was at 15 fps, FH was at 5.

So I get a new computer (Radeon 9550) and I'm playing BF2 lately, 30 fps on low. Not amazing but absolutely playable. So after my BF2 excitement dies down I go "hey, I can play FH now!" Wrong. BF1942 runs awesome now of course but FH still runs terribly, framerate in the lower teens. FH on low and BF2 on low, and BF2 is completely destroying it in terms of performance as well as graphics. I'm surprised this is even possible. I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but it's obvious to me that you didn't put any consideration into performance while making FH. There's no other way to explain the extremely poor performance, especially when it runs even worse than a state-of-the-art game like BF2.

So my question: Are you considering performance in FH2 at all or should I just stop getting excited over the screenshots until I can get a $2000 leet machine?

I look forward to a serious response, though I wouldn't be surprised if I got a "it's not our fault your computer sucks" or two.

Do you have a sound card? What kind of processor are you running? Get a good processor and a crappy $40 dollar sound card, and FH will run fine.

I dont know about that, but baka is right, tell us what else powers your machine and we will get to the bottom of this. There are many things that can be done to improve fps. But tell us about your CPU GPU and size, Memory and such. Memory will not make a huge difference, but if you are far below the min reqs, It could be a huge difference. Also, are you playing on a decent server?

Mainboard : Intel Corporation D850GB Chipset : Intel i850 Processor : Intel Pentium 4 @ 1500 MHz Physical Memory : 512 MB (4 x 0 RDRAM ) Video Card : ATI Technologies Inc Radeon 9550 Hard Disk : WDC (77 GB) CD-Rom Drive : SONY CD-ROM CDU5211 Monitor Type : Philips 105E - 14 inchs Network Card : Intel Corporation 82801BA/CAM (ICH2/3) LAN Controller Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Professionnal 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2 DirectX : Version 9.0c (March 2006)

PC wizard didn't show sound for some reason: it's integrated. So that's it then? Hmm, I never thought of audio being that degrading to performance.

P.S. Thanks for the responses.

Your Memory is a little weak. Anyone out there with 512 MB??? My pC is at 4GB my laptop uses 768MB and can lag sometimes. Servers usually say that you need a minimum of 1 GB. Also, go into processes before you play and kill anything that has your username except for "explorer" and "taskmanager" Kill any firewall or virus scan.

your cpu is a bit lacking as well. i would recommend saving for a decent new computer. a pretty kickass one can be had for under 1500 these days, especially with the upcoming price slashes on intel (pre-conroe) and amd processors.

Yea, your pc seem's a little underpowered but I will take a stab at it and say your FH problems could be with the onboard soundcard. If your sound settings arn't on low, try setting them all to low and give it a test. If that isn't it then it is probably your cpu or ram.
