I reinstall vista today, and I reinstall BF1942 and FH ASAP. I switched to Win 98/Me Mode with admin, it worked!! but when I wanted to load another map, which I press ESC during the game, it crashed to the desktop. When I tried to load a map again, it failed... People said I need to set only 1 core for BF1942, but I don't know how. Could anyone tell me ?

Works under XP and fixes the FH0.7 crashes, so i guessed it might also do on Vista. Maybe you have to be logged in with the Admin account to perform this operation? Maybe someone with Vista experience could give a hint because i never worked with it, i'm still running XPpro 32bit SP3.

It is definitely a problem with BF1942 and multicore CPU's. While BF1942 crashes only from time to time, mods crash nearly every time when running on more than one core.

From what i've read the individual cores do some kind of counting while they run. The problem is that applications sometimes switch cores while they run but the cores do not always have the same countvalue and this is where the application gets confused and crashes. Enabling just one core prevents this if the application has issues running on a multicore CPU. I hope i was able to discribe it with my own words, so it is at least a bit comprehensible.

Hopefuly someone with Vista experience could explain how to disable the other core/cores, so we could try if this fixes one possible reason of the crashes.
