I've got this same problem, with the ironsights. It started out of nowhere (yesterday everything was fine) and with the following error:

shadersprobzm2.jpg

The last sentence meaning: "The system could not locate the designated file"

The game loaded, I could connect to a server, everything ingame was fine, except for the ironsights and sandbags/sandbunkers.

Then I did the following:

1) Deleted cache in Toolbox, didn't work. 2) Copied shaders_client.zip to mods/bf2 folder, didn't work. 3) Deleted cache by hand, didn't work. 4) Read this thread, started up BF2 vanilla, and got this error:

shadersprob2vanillath8.jpg

Now I'm not sure what to do :(

Anyone know of a good solution?

I have a Radeon 4800 Series videocard, and besides the b/w wavy sights, the loading menu is in vanilla style, with yellow letters and everything.

The shaders_client.zip is just not in my mods/bf2 folder, I don't have any clue how it disappeared from there. :uhm:

Could anyone maybe send me the shaders_client.zip and the shaders_client.zip-vanilla by email? Maybe if I just paste them back in the mods/bf2 folder, that will do the trick.

I've had this. Take a deep breath, find 2/3 free hrs, complete reinstall, job done. :)

Took a deep breath, needed only half an hour and did the complete reinstall (kept profiles, btw). Now everything works fine again, thanks Capten_C!

The only thing which bothers me is how this could happen as I changed exactly nothing about my setup when this happened.

Same thing with me, I dread evrytime I load up that ol' b&w will suddenly vomit itself upon my screen

Glad the reinstall worked!! ;)
