tonight I had a CTD while playing. I restartet FH2 and during the start I got the message that the shaders client file is missing. So I copied the file from the fh2 dir to the bf2 dir.
No warnings at starting now, but every time I zoom my rifle view the whole screen is gray (black/white). No colors at zooming, it's just a greyscale view. And at the borders of the zoom screen there is a strang blurring effect.
does anybody knows this problem?
http://forums.filefront.com/fh-help-support/362556-forgotten-hope-2-1-problems-solutions.html First post, second line. You are welcome ;)
didnt help :-(
This problem can have a variety of causes, but these fixes should get rid of the problem: - Make sure you run FH2.exe, do not start FH2 from BF2.exe! - Delete your shader cache. You can find this cache under "My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/fh2/cache".
I am starting FH2 with the toolbox (double-click on server). But even when I am using the desktop link to fh2.exe, the problem still exists.
I had also deleting the cache-dir, but no success.
Still wondering when people start to look at stickied threads or search the forums if the problem already occured to someone before. Anyways, if you can't fix it with the ways Lightning and Remdul posted then your pretty screwed. I've also had that, only way to make sure it's gone is to re-install BF2 totally. Way to do this: http://forums.filefront.com/bf2-problems-errors-help/281039-how-manually-uninstall-bf2-prevent-issues.html Tip for unlucky FH2'ers: Save all your downloads concerning BF2. Patch, mods everything. Makes you do these things much faster.
your grey screen isn't wobbling by any chance?
yes, it's wobbling in the right and the left side of the screen.
The sticky threads didn't help me either. The source of my problem might be different than yours and other people that had problems, but basically for some reason I was missing FH2's 187 KB shaders_client.zip in the fh2 folder.
Try placing these in your EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2 folder: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/12/7/1631495/shaders_client.zip.backup http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/12/7/1631495/shaders_client.zip
No problem, always glad to help ;). I think I'll mention this to Lightning so he adds it to the other thread to help other people who might have a similar cause of the problem.
