RedSand, you have them... in Windows :D Editor 42 is a very powerful texture generator, if you use multiple sub-layers you can create great textures using plain colors in windows.... For snow, the most important file is Detail.dds, just look in Bulge, Valirisk, The Storm or any winter map, copy the Detail.dds from there and then you can configure great brushes in ed42... Otherwise you can find millions of texture on the internet, just google around and you will find.. the only thign you need to know is what happens with a texture when you paint it in bf42... you will see that it gets super-big sometimes, thats why using "patterned" textures arent so good.. they need to be very small to not get over-blown in bf42... You see those snow textures in BC? you can make much better "real" textures yourself in ed42... Another tip how to get textures; a bit of work but you get IMO the best ones:

Open a map, look in Textures folder.. (for example; battle of the bulge). Open the .dds textures files in Photoshop, use the eye-dropper tool to "sample" the exact color on some pixels... for snow i would do like 6 different ones.. sample where its light, dark, wet, dirty etc.. the you create new files, 512x512 and "fill" them with this color... save as .BMP then open ed42, use this new bmp files to create a sub-layered brush (for example one noise that splits into two noises, each having 2 bmp files..) this will give you one "texture" that is made from 4 color files..

Hope you understand how i meant, or i can explain better maybe....

Awesome, just did it and it looks great! I haven't showed you my Fiji map yet have i? I'll up load it soon. It only has trees so far. No buildings on it yet. Natty do you have yahoo message thing? If so add me redsand000 if not, get it! LOL I cant get msn for some reason... :'( I also noticed if you make a map in ED and then open it up in BC, you can't make anymore changes to it in ED, cuz it never saves! I'm not to good at using all the pretty colors in ED yet.... But I'm learning.

i use msn and x-fire and IRC...

msn: dread_natty@yahoo.se x-fire: nattywallo IRC: #fhmod @ gamesurge

you can use ed42 again, you can use BC also, everything works when u learn how files work in bf42.... BC is commercial product made by DICE.. ed42 is beta program made by private person.. they are not compatible with each other, but if you know how they affect files, you can use them parallell.. i can show you, but you need to study them also... see you.
