I know this is becoming a repetative post, however, I'm not even getting the error for the objects list being to big. I started a new mod on bc and labeled it FH same as install /dir. There are no objects in the cache. So i can make the ground look how i want it and all but i have no objects in the list that i can place. I placed the .cfg and .lst file in the correctplace but it is not recognizing it. I'm having the same trouble with ed42 there seems to be no list of objects. Here's the wierdest of it all. If i open an existing FH level all the objects come up as missing. Help?!

Ah, well I guess the problem won't be exactly tough. It's just a reference that's screwed up. Now, if you can't see any objects in BC, it's because of two reasons; 1. The objects are not in the .lst file. 2. The objects are not in the standardmesh file. For example, if you want to use the sandbag objects, you'll have to manually copy these from the bf1942.lst to your FH.lst. The FH list only features FH objects. Also check the FH.cfg file. In there, is written to where BC gets it's standardmesh files from. If the line is set to bf1942\standardmesh, it will get .sm's from the vanilla objects. I myself have combined the standardmesh files, as well as the ,lst files, so I can use all the objects of the game. As for ED42.. yes, you need to extract several .rfa's in order to use them in the editor.

Also make sure to uncheck the "use templates/objects from list" option in ed42 or ed42 wont show any objects that are not in the ed42 list. Ofcourse you will have to exract the bf vanilla and FH files first.

Ok not to be to difficult, but as i'm making this map the objects from bf1942 are showing up on the map just fine but i cannot place a fh object. I can place a fh vehicle spawn but it shows just a square and it doesn't load it visually. Sould I extract the standard mesh from the fh rfa and place them into the \dir for bf1942 standard mesh's or whet is your recommendadtions. I have my terrain almost done and the ground texutres are quickly to follow so i'm in position to start placing objects and i'm kinda lost. I understand bc is kindof a "newb" program but it is something i have good rythm working with and i seem to do well with it. at any rate any help?

well with the current lst and cfg files (plus possbily the bet update for 0.65, see "mapping FAQ") you should be able to see and place both FH and vanilla statics. You wont be able to see FH vehicles though. What Rudolf is suggesting is that you extract both the bf standardmesh.rfa. and FH's standardmesh.rfa. (which contain rhe .sm -standardmesh- files) and pack them together as one, then make a copy of your old FH objects.rfa and put your self made one in its place. Replace it everytime you go play online though since you cant join servers with custom rfa files. edit: oh man i need to stop going out of bed early, its bad for my brains! :(

No, no, you mean the standardmesh.rfa. The objects.rfa hasn't got anything to do with it. BC just uses the standardmesh and .lst file. So extract the bf1942 standardmesh.rfa to your c: drive, then extract the FH standardmesh to your c: drive. Then you need to pack it up again, with, say, MakeRFA. It's DOS, but really reliable. If you can't figure out how it works, I'll show it for you. If you do it in this particular order, then you won't have to change the files' name anymore.

At first, I extracted the FH standardmesh first, then the bf1942. This caused the extractor to overwrite several files of FH with the bf1942 ones. So I had to switch from .rfa's each time before testing. Really annoying. So extract the bf1942 standardmesh first. Since all the FH files are remained "intact", you can use the mixed standardmesh.rfa for both online and editing without having to switch the damn files each time. Offcourse, I would still back up the original files.
