Can model but can't skin. Be good when I can figure out how to export texturemaps for people to texture.

by the way, im working on getting 3ds max, and i heard from a past team member on a mod i worked with awhile ago that theres a way to make it so while your making a skin in photoshop it shows up in max and changes as you change it in photo, anyone know of this plugin or feature because ive been skinning blind for a long time now and basically i make a skin and if its screwed up in game i have to go back and fix it in photo

As of now, I don't possess any skill in modeling. I can do some limited skinning if need be. However, I think my biggest strength might be in helping to root out pictures and do some research on whatever objects we use.

i think that your friend has been talking about livelink? never tried it myself but here isa discription i found:

a great little maxscript written by former Dynamix, and current Blizzard Film Division artist Jared Keller that is called “LiveLink”. Essentially what LiveLink does, is whenever you change one of your texture files it automatically updates the texture within Max! Definitely a great timesaving utility to help you get your texture setup just right. LiveLink can be downloaded from www.scriptspot.com

I'll submit some more models later.. we should keep them simple, thus low poly.. in my opinion, the textures should make the buildings goodlooking, not really the model quality (just check out CoD). So we submit the models, Nechre can unwrap em for us (hopefully in an understandable way), we have people who can spot some good textures for the skinners, and finally combine them and export them. I can make a site where we can put the models on, but they should be finished. I can texture quite well, but I just don't understand all the unwrap happenings.

that sounds good to me. Hails of Nails see the zip for pics, general pics and maps etc. are in the main dir (to give you a good overview), the more detailed pics are in the various sub folders. Take a look at some of the overview pics to see where each house/object is located. PS: i would start modeling myself but i'm cirently very bussy with mapping, so thank you for you offer! Ofcourse i will try to assist you with this and other things (reqeusts, questions etc. you have) as much as possible in return. Just model what you think is a funny/cool object to make, although i prefer to see house nr 1 first, then one of the houses of nr 2 and then nr 3). get the zip here PS: the wide of house nr 1 might be less then 14 meters (10?), i detailed map in a book i have says that it its 13-14 meters but i think that it is a bit less, just try to make the model look good, so try a number between 10-14 meter instead. -or 13-14 meters if that looks seems to be correct afterall).

I can help with skinning as well. Used to do a fair bit of texturing for DoD and CS maps that my buddy would make.
