I dont want to sound rude, but... you learn it, by reading, studying, practicing, testing.... just like any profession or skill...

sorry, but its true.

For FH 0.7 you can use Battlecraft 1942 yes. For FH2, you'll need to use the BF2 map editor. A basic map is not that complicated. However, a map of the same quality as FH 0.7 will take lots of time, dedication and the use of several other programs to make. A map of equal quality to FH2 is almost impossible to make without major experience in modeling, heightmap editing, photoshop, and general BF2 modding. Almost all FH2 maps have statics and other things made specifically for them.

@kev4000: how does making high quality FH2 maps require modeling skills? the only reason i could think of would be if you were adding custom objects...

From personal experience I'd say use Editor 42. I recently have gotten into this mapping program... its 10 times better then battlecraft. And the end result will be better as well. Also, its really not hard to use.

Plus, Bc42 only supports something like 2,030 objects on a map ( ed42 is unlimited as far as I know ). Two thousand objects for an Fh map is not enough if your going for a realistic environment. It sounds like alot... but its really not, at all.

So look into ed42, you will love it. It requires much reading and studying... learn it like its a pain in the ass math problem. Meaning, don't quit until you get it right.

Now you guys talk about both FH1 and FH2 :D

Azreal; he is right in a way... you can make many simple maps ion the editor, but in order to make a... "real" map you're gonna face the task of coding, ading custom sounds, files, textures, models etc.... normally stock objects arent suficient to make a map that is about a distinguished battle or event (i.e. Pegasus Bridge, Arnhem etc etc)...

Remember that the entire mod is filled with custom objects, they are added to the build as the mappers need for them grow with the progress of the mod...
