Hello there was wondering if you could answer a question of mine. I am just starting out with Ed42 and have been looking at the FAQ and tutorials here but I have a question as to how things should be setup.
According to the Ed42 readme when I extract the levels, objects, standardMesh, and textures files I am supposed to place the "file included with the game and mods into" this certain directory.
When I extract the bf1942, FH and another mod files some of them overright files from another mod. Is this supposed to happen or am I supposed to somehow divide these files by mod?
Thanks for any help you can provide
you should divide them per mod though per mod it would be best to included bf1942 stuff aswell, so for example: folder with bf1942 stuff > FH stuff (overwrite stuff that matches) folder with bf1942 stuff > xww2 stuff (overwrite stuff that matches) folder with bf1942 stuff > BG 42 stuff (..) etc. etc.
Yes, you need a separate instalation for each mod you want to make maps. First extract the BF42 files (texture.rfa and after texture_001.rfa, the same with standardmesh and objects) and then the mod files
Thanks guys that information allowed me to get Ed42 up and running.
I can't open up Fall Wiess, I always get an error and ctd when it gets to the heightmap bit. Every other map is fine.
